In an increasingly “networked” reality, focused on the development and commissioning of technologies that know how to anticipate and satisfy the users’ needs, Baxi, leading Italian company in the design and production of high technological boilers and air conditioning systems for both residential and commercial applications, introduces the innovative BMS Building Management System interface kit for the connection of its appliances to modern Building Automation systems.

About Building Automation

Building Automation is an innovative technology based on an efficient resources’ management. Compared to traditional systems it allows significant energy savings, greater levels of comfort and safety, and reduced emissions. It is an intelligent technology capable to locate people in an environment, to detect fires and to autonomously regulate lighting, temperature and other useful elements for an efficient energy and environments management. For these and other significant advantages, Building Automation is increasingly widespread in buildings, mainly commercial, such as business centers, shopping centers, hospitals, wellness centers and hotels.

The revolutionary BAXI BMS Building Management System interface kit

The BMS Building Management System interface kit integrates BAXI high-power thermal systems (high output condensing wall-hung boilers Luna Duo-tec MP +, high output condensing floor-standing boilers with aluminum silicate water/fumes exchanger with insulation in glass wool Power HT-A, high output condensing floor-standing boilers with stainless steel heat exchanger Power HT +) with other automation systems making the interoperability of different devices within everyone’s reach.

Thanks to the BMS interface kit it is possible to connect the aforementioned BAXI high output heat generators, in both single or cascade installations, to Building Management systems based on the BACnet protocol, a Building Automation communication protocol designed to connect devices belonging to different systems as heating/cooling, accesses, lighting, etc.

The BMS interface kit advantages

The first major advantage provided by the Building Automation of a building where Baxi BMS interface kit is installed, is the significant energy savings due an efficient use of resources. Confirming the importance of this facet and the importance of the emissions reduction, the European Union has issued new standards such as UNI EN 15232. The new references will soon lead to further incentives other than the current 65% granted in Italy on similar interventions. Equally important advantages are the greater levels of comfort and livability guaranteed by the technology itself, as well as greater safety. The possibility to remotely control the performance and functioning of the various functional parts of the building also leads to a more efficient maintenance and a faster assistance in the event of malfunctions.

BAXI purpose

BAXI, always focused on providing efficient and innovative solutions for buildings conditioning, has managed to be one of the first businesses to offer the way to connect its heat generators to other automated systems installed in a building. The aim is to improve even more the use of resources and increase the user benefits, both in terms of space management and actual comfort. “As in all our new challenges,” commented Giulio Tessarolo, Baxi Product Manager of Commercial Boilers and Systems, “first of all, we focused on the actual benefits that the BMS interface could have brought to the users of a building. We have therefore analyzed every single aspect, from that of the security of the environment to that of functionality and implemented a high compatibility module that could solve large and small interface problems. Thus, was born the BMS kit, an accessory that I would define above all useful “. It is useful to be able to close a window if the room temperature drops below a certain threshold as it is useful to open the same window to ventilate the room at the end of a meeting. Still, it is useful to turn off the light when the room is empty, to activate the alarm at the closing time or to turn on the heating two hours before starting work and turn it off at the end of the same. It is useful to be able to count on an intelligent system, which saves money while guaranteeing comfort and safety, which works independently and without manual intervention. Now, it will also be possible to connect the BAXI generators.
